Comments: Stark's first name was Etimolon and he was the oldest son of publisher John Stark. E. L. was a prolific composer and arranger - he did most of the Red Back Book arrangements. Traditionally an Oriental good-luck charm, the "Billikin" also celebrates a local St. Louis club and is today still the nickname of St. Louis University's basketball club.
