Comments: John Boone was a blind virtuoso who could play back any piece he heard, no matter how complex, after only one listening. In 1908, he retired from an incredible life of concerts.
Changes Made To Source Reference: The composition was modified extensively by moving and compressing various measures as follows:
- (1) 2nd page, 4th system: 3rd measure was combined with the 2nd measure.
- (2) 2nd page, 6th system: 3d measure was combined with the previous 3rd measure from 4th system to begin the repeat of the strain.
- (3) 3rd page, 1st system: 1st measure was combined into one measure with the 3rd measure of 6th system on second page.
- (4) 3rd page, 6th system: 2nd and 3rd measures were combined into one measure.
- (5) 3rd page, 6th system: 4th measure was combined with 1st measure of 1st system from 4th page to make one measure.
- (6) 4th page, 6th system: 1st and 2nd measures were combined into one measure.
- (7) 4th page, 6th system: 3rd measure was combined with 1st measure in 1st system on the repeat of the strain.
- (8) 5th page, 1st system: 1st measure combined with first beat of second measure into one measure.
- (9) 5th page, 1st system: Second of 2nd measure combined with 3rd measure to form new measure.
- (10) 5th page, 3rd system: 2nd measure combined with first beat of 3rd measure to form new measure.
